A United Europe!

Telegraph | News | Europe unites in hatred of French

Language, history, cooking and support for rival football teams still divide Europe. But when everything else fails, one glue binds the continent together: hatred of the French...

Britons described them as "chauvinists, stubborn, nannied and humourless". However, the French may be more shocked by the views of other nations.

For the Germans, the French are "pretentious, offhand and frivolous". The Dutch describe them as "agitated, talkative and shallow." The Spanish see them as "cold, distant, vain and impolite" and the Portuguese as "preaching". In Italy they comes across as "snobs, arrogant, flesh-loving, righteous and self-obsessed" and the Greeks find them "not very with it, egocentric bons vivants".

Interestingly, the Swedes consider them "disobedient, immoral, disorganised, neo-colonialist and dirty".

Perhaps if they reject the Constitution, we can throw them out of the EU and live happily ever after.

No sorry we'd still have the Germans :)

LOL! Nice one :-)

The Swedes, like the Chinese rae convinced everybody else is n some way, unclean. I liked the way that the French claim that the English have no sense of humour.
Really, how dare they?

How about 5 adjectives from an American POV?

1. Treacherous
2. Shallow
3. Ungrateful
4. Rude
5. Amoral

On the other hand, they proudly defend their civilsation; they never sell out to foreign powers; they do not work like idiots or otherwise sacrifice their comforts for short-term financial gain and they manage to rank in the world GDP tables either just below or just above Britain. I have no problem with proclaiming "Vive la France". My problem is that the English have lost the ability to cry "Long live England" with a straight face. We English would do well to emulate France in many (non-political) ways.
