A salty old seaman writes
Wills and Harry, their father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather
were all naval officers so why have they chosen the Army? Is it because they are only capable of marching about shouting very loudly but not of actually handling complicated weaponry?

perhaps he has been advised that a career in the Navy might not have much of a future.
If the developments covered in the EU Referendum Blog are true they may end up without a carrier, or at least any areoplanes to fly from it (which is as good as not having one).

Perhaps they had advance warning of the EU's plot to replace the Red Ensign with the EU rag and couldn't bear to be too close to it?
