Sporran Licence
BBC NEWS | Scotland | Sporran wearers may need licence
Kilt wearers could face prosecution if they do not have a licence for their sporran under new legislation which has been introduced in Scotland.
The laws are designed to protect endangered species like badgers and otters,... They also apply to other vulnerable animals like deer, wildcats, hedgehogs, bats, lynx, moles, seals, whales, dolphins and porpoises.
The regulations require anyone who owns any part of a protected animal to obtain a licence.
And so the madness spreads.
Comments
To use the extremely well worn phrase: "You couldn't make it up". This phrase has only been current since 1997. Now that tells you something. I agree the madness spreads.

Badgers endangered, really? try pulling the other one, it has bell which call out the police armed response unit.
Vulnerable animals like Deer & seals(overpopulated), Moles (vermin)
bats (not exactly good fur, or much of it)
Whales porpoises or dolphins (now why would anyone want a sporran made of that?)
Still, in a country where 25% of the workforce work for the state, I suppose they have to find something to do with their time
