An Ancient Prejudice Returns


Ironically I enjoyed my first legal cigarette in a pub for many years when supping with the Devil the other night. I thought I ought to remind myself how bloody good they taste and fitting they feel when drinking with chums at the bar, before that pleasure is denied us. And it was a Lucky Strike....


Filthy, filthy things, the cancer sticks. But a bowlful of Balkan Sobranie - that would be nice. Or Whisky Flake. Or Varsity Mixture. Oh yes.

I just wonder how enforcable this new law will actually be. In SA it's pretty much ignored and my current home town the inspector charged with enforcing the rule apparently smokes like a chimney in every bar he inspects.
