When England beat the Aussies, the Aussies were ranked second in the world. That defeat plus the frog victory over the kiwis meant Australia and France swapped places, Australia dropping to fifth and France rising to second. So when England beat France, France was ranked second in the world.

Don't suppose you've got the binge drinking/life expectancy stats for the IRB rankings as well?
While we Kiwis tend to be neck and neck with the Aussie in enjoying the amber fluid, we seem to play better rugby(depending on who you ask) and have less poisonous critters.
Considering what their so called "beer" is like, it's hardly surprising that the US is number 19.
