Save the serfs! Censorship is enforced
Whitehall gag after Serf's blog rebellion - Telegraph
Civil servants will now be issued with guidelines warning that they must "avoid any embarrassment to Ministers or your department".
Any chance that Ministers will be ordered not to embarrass their civil servants by being complete dickheads?

Is that legal? Isn't that political interference with the supposedly independent/non partisan civil service?

Forget the civil servants. How about ministers taking a binding pledge not to embarrass the country?
ps Zorro, most organisations usually have a clause in their contracts of employment/disciplinary codes about not bringing the organisation into disrepute. I'm actually surprised that the civil service seems to think it needs a new one. Unless of course such a thing never existed before.
