Hopefully by then the whole idea can be blamed as one of ex-premier Brown's weirder ideas that will be dropped by the new look Labour party preparing for an election.

It's nothing to do with Broon, it's required by the real government in Brussels, so no UK politician, party, or government can drop it or even change it, under any circumstances at all.
