Eight years ago a councillor was killed by a man wielding a samurai sword in the office of Cheltenham Liberal Democrat MP Nigel Jones.Anyone found guilty of importing samurai swords will face up to seven years in prison and an unlimited fine.
With calls for the law to be extended to banning knives ever more vocal it is worth remembering that it has been said before that it isn't the knives and swords that are the problem and the logical progression is to call for the banning of cricket bats...

To be fair, knives are a hell of a lot easier to conceal than a cricket bat.

When some poor soul is kicked to death will there be calls for feet to be banned? I regret to say this, but capital punishment should be restored (with additional legal safeguards for the defendant)to send a strong message to thugs and their friends who no longer fear an "eight to twelve stretch".

Always wondered why your average kitchen knife needs a pointed end. Sure you would still get slashing, but a round ended knife would surely help?
