Watt's Up with That - Best Science Blog

Best Science Blog - The 2008 Weblog Awards goes to Watt's Up with That

A worthy winner, can you hear the screeching from the losers as to how devalued an award it is as it went to a "denier" ...

The award site is unreachable so I don't know the rest of the results.

Comments

The site is up for me while writing this.

Nice to see Climate Audit come a respectable third with Real Climate a pretty insignificant fifth. I had a real problem deciding who to vote for. CA, in my opinion, is far removed from the typical blog where people take off the wall comments and hope sopmeone cares enough to read them. CA is more of a forum of scientists and statisticians with the door left open so those of us less expert in the details can learn some good science. It's what RC SHOULD be but is not. WUWT was my choice and it beat the atheistic bigots at Pharyngula into second place.

According to a winning blog in another category, the final results will be confirmed on Thursday so anything now should be taken as unofficial. Some that caught my eye:

Best UK Blog: Melanie Phillips came second behind Made in Birmingham
Motl is best European (non UK) blog with Reference Frame (another good science blog which moves beyond the normal blog style)
Junk Food Science (an excellent site, again, outside the idiot blog style) came a good second behind Stirrup Queen
Ezra Levant won the best Canadian blog with Five Feet of Fury second (another difficult choice)
Best Blog Andrew Sullivan The Daily Dish followed by HotAir
Best Conservative Blog almost a dead heat between Small Dead Animals 26.45 and Ace of Spades 26.3%

If you want any more, go look them up:
