Red Faced Greens All at Sea
BBC NEWS | England | Eco-sailors rescued by oil tanker
An expedition team which set sail from Plymouth on a 5,000-mile carbon emission-free trip to Greenland have been rescued by an oil tanker.
The team, which left Mount Batten Marina in Plymouth on 19 April in a boat named the Fleur, aimed to rely on sail, solar and man power on a 580-mile (933km/h) journey to and from the highest point of the Greenland ice cap.
The expedition was followed by up to 40 schools across the UK to promote climate change awareness.
But atrocious weather dogged their journey...

You just couldn't make stuff up like this :)
I just hope the intrepid vegetarians were offered tea and bacon sandwiches when they were hauled on board the tanker.

As seems so often the case with the GW crowd, I suspect it is yet another case of Poor Planning Producing Piss-Poor Performance. They are lucky to be alive.

A 5,000 mile trip consisting of a 580 mile journey? Shome mishtake, shirley?.

580 miles is 933 km *per hour* now, is it? A distance is equal to the speed of your average Boeing? Small wonder these eco-expeditions get in trouble...
