The rows over Europe matter because they reinforce the view that these are the “same old Tories” who are self-indulgently obsessing about their private concerns.

Europe is not a self-indulgent private obsession, it is not a how many angels on a pin head row it is the biggest bloody question are politicians are faced with and wanting to sweep it under the carpet so it doesn't frighten the voters is pathetic.

My impression is that he has a preference for white shirts. Why is this? When I wore a suit, although i had some white shirts, I generally preferred a pale blue. Does he choose the colour himself? They do look a bit stark and schoolboyish. Is it a hangover from Eton?

Every poll published seems to indicate that the majority of the voting public are at least somewhat sceptical about the eu and the vast majority of tory voters are very sceptical. This begs the question: To which small group of Tories obsessing about private concerns are the authors refering? Ken Clarke or Leon Brittan?
