Prof Slingo, Head Boffin Met Office, What Degree Does She Have?

Top scientists unite to challenge rising tide of climate scepticism - Scotsman.com News

Prof Julia Slingo, Chief Scientist for the Met Office, is the one quoted. She has put many years into modelling the weather and climate, but what degree does she have?
I have checked her Personal Curriculum Vitae and her Met Office Profile and not a mention of having been to University. As far as I can judge she worked her way up through the Met Office, starting as a Scientific Officer.
I have always believed that a University Degree is overrated and a good technical education can be superior but I keep reading that those without Climatology Degrees shouldn't comment on Climate Change...

UPDATE - BSc Maths and Physics 1973, PhD 1989 Bristol is the answer a cleverer searcher than me has found. Her PhD thesis is in the library there.

No mention of the subject of her PhD

It all rather depends on the course and what you do with it.
