Hostage takers reduce demands

Meles Zenawi, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia and spokesman for the African Union group of 52 countries, said that they would be willing to accept a global climate fund of $100 billion (£61 billion) a year by 2020. African countries had been demanding up to $400 billion in return for their signatures on a new climate change treaty.

How very generous of them, my offer to them would be slightly different.

Oh great, another pile of money transferred from poor people in rich countries, to rich people in poor countries.

At least I guess it will make good business for the Gnomes of Zurich, once it all filters back into the numbered accounts.

Indeed. My response would be a quote from Withnail & I...

"You can stuff it up your arse for nothing—and fuck off while you're doing it."
