Friday Night Is Music Night (H-Bomb Edition)

H-Bomb Ferguson (May 9, 1929 – November 26, 2006) was an American jump blues singer from Cincinnati, Ohio. He was an early pioneer of the rock and roll sound of the mid 1950s, featuring driving rhythm, intensely shouted vocals, honking tenor saxophone solos, and outlandish personal appearance.

This footage was filmed a month prior to his death. This was the last footage and recording of him prior to his passing.

"H Bomb" is da bomb !!

Saw Cyndi Lauper in Melbourne on Friday. She was absolutely outstanding, really knows how to work an audience and did some good blues covers including Crossroad Blues, Down Don't Bother Me and Mother Earth, and a great version of Frankie Laine's I'm Gonna Be Strong. She has put together a great blues band including Charlie Musselwhite. I see she is touring the UK in June / July and would certainly recommend the concert.
