Let The South Rise Again

The overtaxed South needs its own party - Telegraph

Exhausted from a hard day’s work and even longer commute? Irritated at higher and higher taxes eroding your pay while watching monopolistic train fares spiralling out of control? Sick and tired of subsidising folk from the rest of the country?
You belong to a select club – the club of the hard-working, clever and creative people living in London and the South East who single-handedly are giving the rest of the nation a standard of living they can’t, or won’t, create for themselves.... I have done my bit and I would like the people of Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and vast areas of the rest of England to do theirs.
This area needs its own party. It needs a leader who believes that the striving classes in the South are overtaxed and overburdened...

Perhaps Hitler could be given another chance?
Or Pol Pot?

I would love my family to have the advantages and opportunites the SE seems to have.
Unfortunately it all appears to be stuck around the Westminster axis, whilst the tax burden is universal.
What we really need is politicians who will govern for the good of the whole country and not where their second homes are.

The other man's grass is always greener, the sun shines brighter on the other side...

I went on Danny Alexander MP
Chief Secretary to the Treasurys website
http://www.dannyalexander.org.uk/

Pressed the butoon on left
“Make a Donation”

and paid 9 [nine] pence into his account using PayPal.

I urge everyone to send tuppence to Danny.

As a northerner who spent a few years living and working in the home counties, I think the quality of life is much worse down south, much more pressurised, overcrowded, and the cost of living is relatively high. Especially housing, and transport. I do think that the tax system should take account of the relative costs of accommodation and transport to and from work.

Man's an arse.

What makes him think hard-working, clever, and creative live only in his part of the country?

Maybe he never goes anywhere else?
